Who: An authorised writer for the relevant module and scope. Before starting: Search for an existing record and collect its source information.
- Open the relevant list and use its add/new action, or open an existing record and choose Edit.
- Enter a meaningful title and reference. Complete required fields and select existing categories, people and related records where available.
- Record the owner, relevant dates, description and source evidence. Leave genuinely unknown information blank where permitted; do not use invented dates or zero amounts to mean “unknown”.
- Select Save once and wait for the result. Resolve validation errors without closing the form unnecessarily.
- Reopen the record and confirm the values, links and calculated summary. Check History or the audit trail where available.
Complete when: The saved record is searchable, its facts match the source, and the intended people can access it. A success message alone is not a reason to skip checking a material financial or date change.
Available in JPWTech release 453d130, verified 28 October 2026: Notifications appear at the top centre with readable light/dark colours and a Dismiss notification button. Errors remain until dismissed or replaced by the next notification; successful updates clear after six seconds. Messages remain accessible over open dialogs. Generic record editors keep a stable size while organisation settings load, show a preparation state, and offer Retry settings on failure. Reference filters keep their space while choices load. Workflow confirmation dialogs stay separate from the underlying record and can be cancelled independently.
In the configured application, record editors load the organisation's configured field labels, guidance and required-input rules before allowing a save. If settings cannot load, retry rather than bypassing the check. An administrator can require selected inputs at particular lifecycle stages; a submission may therefore be rejected even when an incomplete draft was permitted. Reopen an editor after a configuration change. Ask the administrator to correct an inappropriate rule through Business configuration, not by entering unsupported information.
