Entry: Proof > Safety data sheets. Before starting: Obtain the applicable supplier SDS and identify its product/revision.
- Enter product name/code, supplier, approval reference, classifications, hazard statements, signal word, issue/revision date and responsible owner.
- Record dangerous-goods details where applicable. Attach/select the source SDS file and link the chemical item to the SDS record.
- Compare every entered or extracted value with the source. Resolve conflicting or missing values before verification.
- Use Verify and enter the human verifier. Confirm the verification state and source link.
- Review the separate currency/review-due indicator and replace or update the record when a new applicable source is obtained.
Complete when: The source matches the item, its details have been checked and both verification and currency are understood. The application calculates a review date from the recorded issue date. That calculation is a maintenance aid, not a determination of every substance-specific duty. The AI extraction state alone is not evidence that extraction or human review occurred.
Available in JPWTech release 453d130, verified 28 October 2026: The Transport dangerous-goods class / division chooser offers named transport classes and divisions. Search by code or meaning (for example, flammable liquids), then select a choice. You can instead type the supplier's exact wording, including an explosives division/compatibility group or subsidiary hazards. Existing classifications are retained; opening a record does not reclassify it. Use the applicable supplier SDS section 14, not a class inferred from the product name. Leave an unknown class blank and resolve it with the supplier.
A transport class is different from a four-digit UN identification number and from the GHS classification in the separate field. This chooser is a reference aid, not a dangerous-goods classification engine or a complete shipping declaration. Retain UN numbers and other transport particulars in the source SDS and record additional context in Notes as needed. NZ EPA explains the distinction and transport information; NZTA's class reference underlies the choices.
In this release, AI extract asks for confirmation before recording the extraction state. It does not run document extraction or populate fields. Use it only after actual extraction has occurred, then compare the resulting values with the source and use Verify for the human verification step. Verification still requires a named verifier and the existing permissions.
